Went to the Naval Submarine School at Groton, New London, Connecticut as an ETN3 in latter 1963. Non-volunteered for submarines and got orders to the USS Richard E. Byrd (DDG-23). Went to a cryptographics school en-route. Helped put my ship into commission at Pier 97 in Seattle, Washington on March 7, 1964. Made several Caribbean Cruises and two Mediterranean Cruises plus other missions. Got out of the Navy in August of 1966. Went to work for Motorola Semiconductor...Expand for more
Products Division in Phoenix, Arizona. Moved on to Talley Industries in Mesa, Arizona. Then went into Civil Service at Keyport Naval Torpedo Station at Keyport, Washington. Worked on MK 44 torpedos, Polaris Missile Program and at the Quality Evaluation Laboratory Calibration Facility. Decided on a change and went to Alaska and hired on with the Federal Aviation Administration. Decided to move back to the Lower 48 and got my old job back at Keyport. When I felt that it was time for another change I hired on with the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor, Washington where I worked on the Trident Submarines until I retired on June 30, 1999. Enjoying retirement a lot.
